First 12'' for mid-west techno super trooper Paul Birken,
released on Woody McBride's Tape label, one of almost
a dozen sub-labels in the Communique Records family.
These four rough hewn, diy purist 4/4 offerings reflect
the incredible mid-90's deluge of quality techno
originating from Minneapolis; "Son Of Gonzo" was an
apt stylistic precursor to his next release, the acid opus
Surfin' Superior, released on Communique that same year.
